Thanksgiving Argument

My family spent a lot of time talking about sports on Thursday. Especially myself, my brother, my grandfather, my father, and my uncle. The topic we mainly talked about over the holidays was our own separate views on Noblesville's high school basketball team. I played, along with seven other seniors, last year and we went to the regional championship but lost by one point in overtime to the state champions. My grade was always considered the "special" group because we have been playing together ever since we were in the 3rd grade. But, anyway, we were debating on whether or not this years team would be good or not. Me and my grandfather argued that they would be good and my dad brother and uncle stated otherwise. Looking back on the debate, both sides supported their argument with really descriptive details. Each giving a valid point here and there with sometimes random facts being thrown into the conversation. But, in the end, me and my grandfather won the argument.

Afghanistan

My friend, who is practically family, came home Friday from being in Afghanistan. He joined the marines two and a half years ago and has been away for about 18months. He first went to Japan, and he was suppose to make a leave for home last May. But, the Marines asked him if he wanted to go to Afghanistan for about three or four months, and he accepted. The stories that he told about Afghanistan were unreal. So far beyond life changing. I never want to hear about some of the stories he told ever again, but to give a very small glimpse at it here is one story. My friend just arrived in Afghanistan and the first thing that happens to him is he sees a seven year old girl taking care of her twin three year old sisters. Their parents were killed about a month ago, and they were begging my friend for a pen and paper so they could learn to write and get an education. Seven years old. She is a mother figure at seven years old.

Thanksgiving

I am so pumped for Thanksgiving. Not only for the amount of delicious homemade food but also for having time off of school. Although, every time i think about Thanksgiving i can almost smell my grandmothers stuffing being cooked with the turkey. My mother, grandmother, and aunts all cook in the kitchen all day and make a huge feast for the whole family. Our house fills with the delicious smell and stays that way for days. I can't wait for it!

NBA2K11

Word on the street is this game is supposed to be extremely fun. They brought back the legends of basketball, including Michael Jordan who has not been on a video game in a long time. Dont get me wrong, i  am a huge Michael Jordan fan, but he had his glory years ago. He is done with basketball and shouldnt be on the games. I am still excited for this game and am going to get it as soon as i can, but i think that putting Michael on the game was a bad idea. He had his prime time in basketball. There has to be a time where he needs to step down and let other guys shine. Although playing him in the game is going to be pretty tight!

The Snow Storm

Quite honestly, when i saw the snow starting to fall, it made me more mad than anything. Here come Indiana's awesome winter again. Its going to be freezing cold then the next day its going to be extremely warm outside. I love the change of seasons, but once it changes it should stay that way. It is stupid how some days in December are warm enough to wear shorts outside. If it is going to snow, snow in December, January, and February.

Coffee

I have always hated coffee. I only tried it a few times before, but every time i remember not liking it too much. This all changed last week with a huge cup of coffee from Dunkin' Donuts. I was pulling an all-nighter with a buddy of mine, and we were finding it hard to stay up. Neither of us really drink energy drinks so we decided to go get coffee. My buddy loves coffee and said that he would get me to like it too. He was right. It was so good. Now i am like Will Ferrell in the movie Kicking and Screaming. I drink coffee all the time.

First Semester

I was with my older brother, who also goes to Ball State, and we were talking about how fast school goes by. We were talking about how we thought high school went by really fast. Then when college hit it was almost like life shifted to another gear and went even faster. We are already almost done with our first semester. This is crazy!
